Recent incidents include an Austrian father and son holidaying in London who were ordered by police to delete their pictures of Vauxhall bus station; a man who was arrested after photographing a fish and chip shop in Kent; an amateur photographer questioned by two police community support officers for photographing Christmas lights in Brighton; an architecture photographer who was apprehended while photographing Sir Christopher Wren’s Christ Church in London; a reporter who was stopped and searched while taking pictures of the tower block at 30 St Mary Axe (popularly known as the ‘Gherkin’) in the City of London; and a professional photographer who was stopped while photographing the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral. All were questioned and searched in the name of preventing terrorism.
